All-Helicopter Airshow Whirls Into Pennsylvania at RotorFest 2014, Oct 11th and 12th

 

RotorFest 2014 will feature a special tribute to soldiers in the Pennsylvania National Guard returning soldiers, the US Army Golden Knights 16 person parachute team from Ft. Bragg, NC, the original Bat Mobile and Bat Copter flying show and Sky Soldiers Huey/Cobra Vietnam Rescue re-enactment, complete with “enemy attackers.”

West Chester, Pennsylvania, September 23, 2014 (McKenzieNewsService.com) - The American Helicopter Museum’s RotorFest 2014, the annual, only all-helicopter air show in the US, is scheduled for October 11th and 12th, from 10am – 4:30pm at the American Helicopter Museum, 1220 American Blvd., West Chester, PA.
 
RotorFest 2014, managed by Dave Schultz Airshows, LLC, will feature a special tribute to soldiers in the Pennsylvania National Guard returning soldiers, the US Army Golden Knights 16 person parachute team from Ft. Bragg, NC, the original Bat Mobile and Bat Copter flying show and Sky Soldiers Huey/Cobra Vietnam Rescue re-enactment, complete with “enemy attackers.”
 
A family-oriented outing, RotorFest 2014 includes three exciting air shows each day, flight demonstrations, helicopters on static display, helicopter rides and opportunities to meet flight crews along with amusement rides, food and other festival entertainment.
 
Welcome Home Warriors is a tribute to Pennsylvania National Guard men and women returning from active service in helicopters in Iraq and Afghanistan and their devoted families for sharing individual stories, memorializing fallen comrades and saluting the 28th Combat Aviation Brigade.
 
The Army Aviation Heritage Museums Sky Soldiers Team will fly Huey and Cobra Helicopters to dramatically recreate a Vietnam rescue mission, complete with Vietnam and enemy soldiers and Cobra strafing runs. Exciting narration and music will enhance the thrills.
 
Sixteen jumpers from the US Army Golden Knights Parachute Team (Fort Bragg, NC) will leap in formation in honor of the Golden Knights Creed: “Under a canopy of black and gold I fly the colors of the Army. I volunteered to become an ambassador of my service and I will always endeavor to uphold the prestige, honor, high standards, and esprit de corps of the United States Army Parachute Team. The memories, achievements and legacy of all my predecessors are my responsibility; I will not fail them.”
 
The Original BatCopter from the Batman TV Show, will fly in from the Bat-Hangar in Gotham City to for a Wham! Bam! performance. One of America’s most beloved superheroes, Batman saved lives and solved crimes in the 1960’s movie and TV show utilizing  a garage full of awesome vehicles including the BatCopter.

 

RotoFest Admission is $15.00 per person. Includes Museum admission. 
 
For the thrill of the day, visitors may purchase rides in both the Huey and Cobra Helicopters.

 

Located in the Philadelphia suburb, West Chester, PA, the museum is open Wednesday through Saturday, 10:00am to 5:00 pm., Sunday from 12:00pm to 5:00 pm. (last admission at 4:00pm all days).

The American Helicopter Museum, (www.americanhelicopter.museum) a 20,000-square-foot hangar full of 70 years of vintage helicopters, is a dream destination with its mission to preserve, educate and inspire interest in the history, science and technology of helicopters.
