Mustang Spring Jam Returns to the Outer Banks, Corolla, NC

 

The event benefits the Corolla Wild Horse Fund and the Mustang Outreach Program. The Corolla Wild Horse Fund is a 501(c)3 nonprofit charity with the mission “to protect, conserve, and responsibly manage the herd of wild Colonial Spanish Mustangs roaming freely on North Carolina's northernmost Currituck Outer Banks.

 

Corolla, North Carolina (Outer Banks), March 23, 2017 - Corolla’s annual Mustang Spring Jam returns to the Outer Banks on May 21st, 2017, and event organizers, Bearded Face Productions, have released an exciting lineup comprised of funk, rock & roll and blues. 

 

The event will be headlined by North Carolina based rock-funk band BIG Something and New York City’s blues rock act The London Souls on two intimate non-overlapping stages.


Joining the aforementioned headlining acts will be Urban Soil, a seasoned Americana rock band from Raleigh, iconic Outer Banks’ bands Formula and Zack Mexico and the newly formed Outer Banks ensemble, The Ramble.  The day will begin with performances by the Mustang Outreach Program’s student bands at 12:30pm with the gates opening at noon.


The event will be hosted at Mike Dianna’s Grill Room in the Timbuck II Shopping Village.  Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the gate; children 12 and under are free.  Tickets are available at Mike Dianna’s Grill Room in Corolla, Trio in Kitty Hawk and at
www.mustangmusicfestival.com.  Wood fired grill specialties, world famous crab cakes, beer, wine, soda and cocktails will be available for purchase.

The Corolla Wild Horse Fund incorporated as a 501(c)3 nonprofit charity in 2001 with the mission “to protect, conserve, and responsibly manage the herd of wild Colonial Spanish Mustangs roaming freely on the northernmost Currituck Outer Banks, and to promote the continued preservation of this land as a permanent sanctuary for horses designated as the State Horse and defined as a cultural treasure by the state of North Carolina.”  Often revered as one of the area’s most vital resources, the Colonial Spanish Mustang is on the Critically Endangered Breed list of the American Livestock Conservancy and on the Nearly Extinct list of the Equus Survival Trust.  For more info and history on the Corolla Wild Horse Fund, visit www.corollawildhorses.com.


The Mustang Outreach Program is a 501(c)3 nonprofit charity that was founded in 2012 with the mission of supplementing the cultural arts education of Dare and Currituck County youth through music performance, workshops, subsidized lessons and to provide a stage for its talented students to perform.  The program has never been more important in the current climate of dwindling education budgets that often see cultural arts cut first.  More information is available at
