Classical guitar virtuoso Manuel Barrueco visits Boston for solo recital

 

Grammy-nominated Manuel Barrueco. His concert program includes Baroque and Spanish masterworks from J.S. Bach, Domenico Scarlatti, Joaquin Turina, and Isaac Albeniz.

 

Boston, Massachusetts (March 12, 2014) - The Boston Classical Guitar Society welcomes Grammy-nominated Manuel Barrueco for a solo guitar recital on Friday, April 4th, 2013.  His concert program includes Baroque and Spanish masterworks from J.S. Bach, Domenico Scarlatti, Joaquin Turina, and Isaac Albeniz.  Recognized as one of the most important guitarists of our time, Mr. Barrueco is a superb instrumentalist and an elegant musician, possessing a seductive sound and uncommon lyricism.  He has appeared on numerous American television programs and concertized in major international musical centers.  His recent recording, Medea (with the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra), explores flamenco-inspired Spanish pieces from Albeniz, Granados, and Manolo Sanlucar.
 
The recital begins at 7:30 p.m. at First Lutheran Church of Boston, 299 Berkeley Street, in the Back Bay. Tickets are $35 for general admission and $30 for students and seniors.  There is an additional $5 discount for BCGS members.  Tickets may be purchased at the door or at
