Roland Dyens’ compositions are beloved by audiences worldwide and showcase an effortless synthesis of classical, jazz, and folk styles.

Boston, Massachusetts (April 7, 2014) - The Boston Classical Guitar Society welcomes French guitar virtuoso and composer Roland Dyens as the headlining artist for the 2014 New England Guitar Ensembles Festival.  Taking place on April 26, NEGEF offers workshops and concerts dedicated to area guitar ensembles and celebrates the Boston guitar community with an annual members concert.

Roland Dyens’ compositions are beloved by audiences worldwide and showcase an effortless synthesis of classical, jazz, and folk styles.  In 2010, he was the only classical guitarist to be invited to participate in the Paris tribute concert to Django Reinhardt.  At NEGEF, Roland Dyens will present a solo evening recital and conduct the world premiere of Four Moods and Coda, a guitar orchestra piece commissioned for the occasion.

The festival begins at 9 a.m. at First Lutheran Church of Boston, 299 Berkeley Street. Day passes are $35, and include the evening concert. Tickets only for the 7:30 p.m. Dyens concert cost $25 for general admission with discounts for students, seniors, and society members. The online box office is at www.itsmyseat.com/bcgs.html.  For more information, contact director@bostonguitar.org.
