Cajun Cafe on the Bayou's Festival of Florida Beer Salutes Florida's Craft Beer Industry, Pinellas Park, FL

Cajun Cafe Owner Paul Unwin has known some of the brewers since they were home brewers and have watched many of them become important brewers in the craft beer world. He wanted to do a festival that honored their achievements and the contribution they’ve made to the craft beer industry.

Pinellas Park, Florida, March 23, 2015 (McKenzieNewsService.com) - Cajun Cafe on the Bayou will salute Florida's craft beer industry with their Festival of Florida Beer on April 4th in Pinellas Park, FL (8101 Park Blvd.).

This is an event that helps festival guests become better acquainted with the abundant selection of local craft breweries. The festival will feature 100+ beers to taste, all from the Florida. It will also feature some new brewers that have not distributed their beers yet, so a few surprises there, and of course the home brew clubs will be stepping up their game as usual, serving some very impressive brews.

The beer-garden atmosphere is 90% under cover. Admission includes souvenir tasting glass, Cajun plate, bacon wrapped sausages, cheese and crackers, peanut butter pretzels, cheese and pineapple picks, bacon wrapped pineapple picks, olive mozzarella and tomato picks, bread pudding, Louisiana crackling and more. About Cajun Cafe on the Bayou:
Cajun Café on the Bayou is not your typical Cajun restaurant.  They are well-known for their location on Cross Bayou and the large selection of fine craft ales, as well as their freshly cooked, authentic Cajun and Louisiana Cuisine.  The menu offers over 75 craft ales in bottles and the 15 taps feature all Florida-brewed craft beers. Indoor, outdoor and waterside dining is offered in a charming old shack on Cross Bayou. The Cajun Cafe is well known for their Beer Festivals and have an annual Mardi Gras Celebration.

The owner, Paul Unwin, is from Thornbury, near Bristol, in England.  He moved to Florida in 2003 and purchased Cajun Café on the Bayou from his father-in-law, Joe Thibodaux, that same year. Paul has travelled to Louisiana many times and has even visited the bayous with one of their first crawfish vendors.  He has also travelled to Breaux Bridge, Louisiana and maintains a friendship with Floyd Poche of Poche’s Market, Restaurant and Smokehouse, their sausage and Cajun meat vendor.  Paul regularly travels around the US, visiting breweries and brewers, hand-selecting the fine beers that are available in the restaurant and at the beer festivals.
