Shelby, North Carolina, October 21, 2014 (McKenzieNewsService.com) - The Carolina Pottery Festival will take place on November 8th at the LeGrand Center, 1800 E. Marion Street, in Shelby, North Carolina. Over 100 potters will be showing and selling their beautiful wares. This is one of the largest "pottery only" festivals in the region and brings potters from across the Carolinas together for just one day. There is a $5.00 admission fee for ages 15 and older, a portion of which goes to the Cleveland County Arts Council for supporting pottery in the area.

Celebrating fourteen years of bringing pottery lovers and potters together, this festival showcases the talents of over 100 fine artists. Traditional face jugs, contemporary sculptural pieces, wood and soda fired work, functional tableware, and decorative raku work are just some of the types of pottery that will be available.

The LeGrand Center houses all the potters under one roof in a comfortable, beautiful atmosphere. The event takes place just in time for holiday shopping and pottery lovers will be able to meet the creators, find out the story behind the work and the inspiration that created it. An array of potters also teach lessons for those interested in learning this traditional craft.

Smoke on the Square will be on hand for refreshments and lunch during the festival at the LeGrand Center. Parking is free and conveniently located. There are comfortable areas to rest, with a public lounge room.
