Chicago's Classical Symphony Orchestra and The Protégé Philharmonic Perform 2015 Fall Showcase Joint Concert

 

 

Chicago, Illinois, November 6, 2015 - The Classical Symphony Orchestra and The Protégé Philharmonic invite the public to their Fall Showcase Joint Concert, the first concert of the orchestras' 2015-2016 season, on Sunday, November 22, 2015 in the Salme Harju Fine Arts Center, Northeastern Illinois University, 3701 West Bryn Mawr Ave., Chicago, IL at 3 p.m. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are General Admission: $15; Seniors/Students: $10; Children, 12 & under: $5. Free parking in Parking Lot F.
 
Richard Wagner's favorite Die Meistersinger: Prelude begins the concert demonstrating The Protégé Philharmonic's ability to bring great operatic music to life. Protégé then performs the devilish and exciting Mephisto Waltz by Franz Liszt. Protégé will complete their portion of the concert by performing the thrilling and sinister Night on Bald Mountain by Modest Mussorgsky.
 
The Classical Symphony takes the stage after intermission with Gaenato Donizetti's romantic and lyrical operatic Don Pasquale: Overture. They will finish with the majestic and exciting Mathis Der Maler by Paul Hindemith.
 
The orchestras will combine forces to finish the concert the dramatic Flying Dutchman: Overture by Richard Wagner rounding out an afternoon filled with exciting and powerfully performed music.

About The Organization: The Orchestras build the future of classical music through the cultivation of young artists, which includes orchestral training opportunities, chamber music ensembles, soloists and composers. The audition-only orchestras, ranging from junior high and high school (The Protégé Philharmonic) through college, graduate school and interested, highly qualified adults from the community (The Classical Symphony Orchestra). The Orchestras provide professional orchestra training and receive coaching from professional accomplished musicians from throughout the Chicagoland area.
