Classical Symphony Orchestra Opening Concert of the 2014 Summer Season, Chicago, July 6th

Chicago, Illinois, June 27, 2014 (McKenzieNewsService.com) - The Classical Symphony Orchestra will be giving its first concert of the 2014 Summer Season on Sunday, July 6, 2014. The concert will be performed in the newly constructed Robin Bennett Theatre at Jones College Prep High School, located at 700 South State Street, Chicago (public transportation stops at the front door).  Parking is located across the street from the Theatre.  Ticket prices are $10.00 general admission.
 
The concert begins with the stately and classic Beethoven's Egmont Overture.  Next, close your eyes and listen to the seashore sounds in the wonderful and picturesque La Mer by Debussy.  Dvorak's colorful and haunting Symphony No. 9 in E Minor, Op. 95, "New World" closes out the program.  Joseph Glymph, Founder and Music Director, said, "I have chosen music that has brilliant orchestra colors, fits the summertime, and in all three cases, tells wonderfully engaging stories."

About the Orchestra: The Classical Symphony Orchestra builds the future of classical music through the cultivation of young artists, which includes orchestral training opportunities, chamber music ensembles, soloists and composers. The audition-only orchestra counts members from the Chicago metropolitan area and northwest Indiana, who are college, graduate school and interested, highly qualified adults from the community. The orchestra provides professional orchestra training and provides coaching from professional accomplished musicians from throughout the Chicagoland area. Rehearsals are held at Classical Symphony Hall, 218 South Wabash Avenue; rehearsals are open to the public.
