Wounded Warrior Band Headlines Denver Berkeley Park Festival

 

This year the festival partners with the non-profit organization Wounded Warrior Music Program. The Colorado School of Rock Wounded Warrior Music Program is a music curriculum for military men and women to reconnect with their families, through a hands on music program that restores relationships and facilitates the return to domestic life.

 

 

Denver, Colorado, March 15, 2017 - The 2nd Annual Denver Berkeley Park Art & Music Festival is back June 10-11, 2017, with a showcase of fine arts, live music performances, kids activities and delicious foods. The event is located at Berkeley Park, 4600 W. 46th Ave., Denver, CO 80212. Festival admission and parking are free.

 

This year the festival partners with the non-profit organization Wounded Warrior Music Program. Their band performs a MoTown Rock and Soul Revue, the next generation of hybrid live performance. Pristine sound quality and a mix of the digital sound revolution is crossbred with the energy of stellar musicians teariní it up on stage. Paula Comptonís soulful vocals reminiscent of Janis Joplin, combined with Jac Mihanovicís bass and keyboard synthesizer prowess, gives a 20-piece band feel.  Mihanovicís recording and performance credits include Ray Charles, Steve Vai, Little Richard, Taj Mahal, Robert Fripp, and Tower of Power to name a few.

 

The Wounded Warrior Band's hit CD "Booths On The Ground" is #1 on YouTunes and Amazon.
 
More performances by Scarecrow Revival, Ponder The Albatross, Band On The Fence, Franny & The Jets, Doc & Kit Americana Sound, and Clyde Tullis Blues, bring on the music for a special festival weekend. Covered and open seating, guests are also invited to bring lawn chairs to enjoy the show. Music times for each act is posted on the festival website.
 
Browse the park lawns with rows of booths filled with juried art for sale by national and local fine artists.  On display are distinctive jewelry designs, painting and mixed media, ceramics, sculpture, photography, wood, leather, hand crafted furniture, and wearable art - a smorgasbord of fine art. Talk with the artists about their process and inspiration.
 
The festival is located at the corner of Tennyson St. and 46th Ave. Hours are Saturday 10am - 7pm and Sunday 10am - 4pm. Visit the festival website for more details and music schedule at
