100 Years of Collecting, Columbia County Historical Society



Kinderhook, New York - Since its founding, the Columbia County Historical Society has grown considerably with the acquisition of numerous collections objects, four historic properties, and the development of an active research library. Some of the Historical Society's early acquisitions are on view for the first time in many years; other institutional documents and objects will be on exhibit (at the Museum & Library building, ​Saturdays/Sundays, Noon - 4pm, through December 31, 2017). In addition, new acquisitions, old favorites and often overlooked objects will be on display in the recently revitalized gallery spaces.


The Columbia County Historical Society is located at 2589 Route 9H, Ichabod Crane Schoolhouse, Kinderhook, NY 12106.

The Columbia County Historical Society Museum & Library includes two galleries of changing exhibitions, a research library and reading room, collection storage and museum store.
