Films for all ages free and fun at 7th KidCinemaFest Film Festival in New York City

 

The free Festival aims to enrich children's appreciation for filmmaking and cultural diversity through a program of over 30 films that includes documentary and fiction films as well as animations from 25 countries in Europe, North America, Latin America, Africa and Asia.

 

 

New York, New York, October 20, 2015 - Cine Art Entertainment Productions, in collaboration with Councilman Ydanis Rodríguez, Alianza Dominicana Cultural Center and Catholic Charities proudly presents 7th annual edition of KidCinemaFest held October 23-30 in New York City.  The free Festival aims to enrich children's appreciation for filmmaking and cultural diversity through a program of over 30 films that includes documentary and fiction films as well as animations from 25 countries in Europe, North America, Latin America, Africa and Asia.  The festival welcomes attendees of all ages to view some of the most exciting, smart and reflective movies of this decade. All foreign language films are subtitled in English.
 
KidCinemaFest opens October 23, 7:00pm at Alianza Dominicana Cultural Center with the animated film Song Of The Sea from Academy Award nominee director, Tomm Moore and closes on October 30th at Alianza Dominicana Cultural Center with the Argentinian film The Games Maker directed by Juan Pablo Buscarini.
 
The program includes Alê Abreu’s film The Boy and The World, a Brazilian animation; Bubble Bubble Meows and the Meteor Stomachache (Matt Orefice, USA); Kahlil Gibran: The Prophet produced by Salma Hayek; hilarious Mexican adventure Doctor Funes’ Formula (José Bull); Mexican animation The Incredible Story of  The Stone Boy (Pablo Aldrete, Jaime Romadía, Miguel Bonilla, Miguel Uriegas); Patema Inverted by well-known Japanese director Yasuhiro Yoshiura.
 
Festival venues are: Alianza Dominicana Cultural Center (530W. 166th Street and Amsterdam), Casita Maria (928 Simpson St and 163rd Street) CUNY in the Heights (5030 Broadway at 213th), Comisionado Dominicano de Cultura (541W. 145th Street (2nd Floor), Beacon MS 326 (401 West 164th Street).
