Horses?  More Horses!  Days of '47 All Horse Parade in Salt Lake City, Utah

This year’s July 13th Days of ’47 All Horse Parade is one remembrance of a time dating back decades when people took time to think about those who came from the Midwest to Utah’s mountains.

Salt Lake City, Utah, May 1, 2013 - When Utahns think about the annual Days of ’47 July celebration their thoughts turn to the pioneers who made the thousand mile journey and the horses and oxen that pulled many a wagon across the American plains. That arduous journey for man and beast is remembered every summer with many celebratory events.

The role of horsepower was an integral part of the trek. Today, as in pioneer times, that role is brought to the forefront with a parade of horses, carriages, wagons and  people dressed in vintage clothing.

Come be a part of the fun at 6:30 p.m. on July 13, 2013, at the Sandy South Towne Center Promenade,  240 West 10000 South.  There is still time to fill out an on-line application if you and your horse wants to join-in.

Kick back and relax at our other events including two more big parades, a Pops Concert and one of the best indoor rodeos in the country.
