DOCUTAH Southern Utah International Documentary Film Festival named one of the nation’s best “Small-Town Documentary Film Festivals for 2012” by PBS

 

 

St. George, Utah - The DOCUTAH Southern Utah International Documentary Film Festival originated in 2010.  The event has been praised as one of the nation’s best “Small-Town Documentary Film Festivals for 2012” by the Public Broadcasting System (PBS). The 2013 festival dates are September 3 - 7. Festival attendees come for the films, stay for the scenery and depart having experienced inspiration.  Festival films are screened at indoor and outdoor venues in the local community of St. George, Utah and at venues among the magnificent red rocks of Kane County. By blending the attractions of breathtaking Southern Utah with a love of documentaries, the 2012 year encouraged 354 submissions; engaging professional and student filmmakers from 42 different countries. The DOCUTAH team was honored to host forty-two filmmakers including Kyle Tekiela, A Sister’s Call a film which received two DOCUTAH Raven awards and has gone on to win at multiple festival. DOCUTAH enjoys wonderful community partnerships with local hotels and resorts including the award winning Red Mountain Resort. These hotels offer discounted hotel rates to DOCUTAH attendees.
