The Festival of Arts - California's Premier Fine Art Show Celebrates its 81st Season in Laguna Beach, California, June 30 through August 31, 2013

 

As California’s longest running outdoor fine art show and one of the nation’s most highly acclaimed and attended juried exhibitions, visitors and art connoisseurs can expect to find the highest echelon of art and artists at the Laguna Beach Festival of Arts.

 

 

Laguna Beach, California, May 1, 2013 - The Festival of Arts, California’s Premier Fine Art Show, returns June 30 through August 31, 2013, with 140 of Orange County’s most renowned artists. As California’s longest running outdoor fine art show and one of the nation’s most highly acclaimed and attended juried exhibitions, visitors and art connoisseurs can expect to find the highest echelon of art and artists at the Laguna Beach Festival of Arts.
 
“Every year we are honored to feature the work of such incredibly talented artists at the Festival of Arts,” says Marketing and Public Relations Director Sharbie Higuchi. Visitors have an opportunity to view and purchase original paintings, sculpture, printmaking, photography, ceramics, jewelry, and furniture from artists around Orange County. Since opening in 1932, thousands have shown and sold their artwork at the Festival. Many Festival artists have their work featured in the private collections of leading art collectors, celebrities, and museums around the world.

 

 

 

Throughout the eight-week festival, the Festival of Arts offers a wide range of daily activities that the whole family can enjoy. The 2013 events calendar includes nightly live music, jazz concerts, wine and chocolate pairings, cooking demonstrations, guided art tours, and art workshops. Several special one-day events return this year including the popular Festival Runway Fashion Show, and the Acura Celebrity Concert and Pageant Benefit.
 
In 2013, Sundays will feature a new musical series with an eclectic mix of music from Ethereal and Chill to Jazz/World/Classical fusion. From 2 – 4pm, Sunday in the Park will provide the perfect atmosphere to browsing the art gallery, picnics on the green, or simply sitting back and taking in the beautiful weather of Laguna Beach.
 
“There’s something for everyone this year,” says Higuchi. “Visitors can view and purchase artwork, listen to an art tour, catch a demonstration, or just sit back and enjoy the live music. The Festival of Arts is the place to be this summer!” 

 

 

 

Events and Activities
Free art tours are held Monday - Friday at 11 am and 3 pm and Saturday and Sunday at 11 am and 4 pm. Meet the artists and learn firsthand about their artwork and techniques through discussions and free artist demonstrations, held dail. In addition to the art show, the Festival offers a wide range of daily activities that the whole family can enjoy, including free daily art workshops in the Festival Art Center and seminars for children and adults; daily live entertainment including visual and performing arts; and other special attractions. Plus, a self-guided audio tour where visitors can use their cell phones to listen to recorded greetings from the exhibiting artists at each booth.

Art Workshops for Everyone
In 2013, printmaking, ceramics and multimedia workshops will be open daily for visitors of all ages to stretch creative muscles. The Festival Art Center will be open from 11am - 8pm daily for hands-on artistic fun. Creative juices flow at the Festival’s Adult Art Workshops where students will create their own masterpieces under the instruction of professional artists Thursdays afternoons at 1:30pm. Something for the Kids
In addition to the above, kids will have much to do and appreciate in the 2013 Festival season. The Festival’s Junior Art Exhibition, sponsored in part by the PIMCO foundation, is comprised of over 300 pieces of artwork from Orange County school children (PK-12), the quality of art represented in the Junior Art Exhibition will astound art lovers of all ages. Dining Options/Gift Shop
Tivoli Terrace Restaurant serves lunch and dinner during the Festival season in a beautiful garden setting. Live music is featured nightly. Tivoli Terrace will feature its Summer Pageant Menu with an array of salads and sandwiches and fresh seafood for lunch and a variety of traditional American cuisine for dinner. Gina’s Alfresco offers casual Italian fare and is a complement to the Festival’s artistic atmosphere. The Festival of Arts boutique style gift shop is the perfect place to find t-shirts, art books, posters, messenger bags and many other items to remember your visit.

Tickets:
General Admission: Monday – Friday $7, Saturday - Sunday $10
Students & Seniors: Monday – Friday $4, Saturday - Sunday $6;
Free Admission for Children 12 and under, Military, and Laguna Beach Residents.
 
Tickets for Pageant of the Masters are $15 - $220 (depending on seat location and night of the week). Pageant of the Masters ticket holders can present their stub at The Festival of Arts front gate for free admission all summer long.
