Fiber Artisans Eagerly Awaiting the 9th Annual Fiber Expo in Ann Arbor, Michigan

In recent years there has been a resurgence of interest in the fiber arts.  The sustainable and green movement has brought a new life to the age old crafts of felting, knitting, spinning and other crafts using natural fibers.

Ann Arbor, Michigan, October 15, 2015 - The frost is on the pumpkins, there is a nip in the air.  People are digging out their cool weather clothes. It is a perfect time of year to head over to Fiber Expo, where those that love making and using things from natural fibers meet.  There is nothing better than finding a new pair of cozy wool mittens, taking a class on how to make a felted purse, or being face to face with a cute alpaca.

Many local residents as well as people from neighboring states will be “flocking” to the Fall Fiber Expo that is taking place October 24 &25, 2015 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The Spring Fiber Expo is scheduled for April 9 & 10, 2016.

Classes will be available in many of the fiber arts such as knitting, weaving, rug hooking, and felting. Vendors will be on site offering a wide selection of products.  Breeders will be exhibiting some of their fiber animals such as alpacas, sheep, and angora rabbits at the show to educate the public about their care.

Fiber Expo will take place October 24, 9-5 and October 25, 10-4.  Admission: $4  (children under 12 free), $6  two days.  Location: Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds, 5055 Ann Arbor Saline Road, Ann Arbor, Michigan, 48103.
