Gainesville Fine Arts Association's 7th Annual Winter Fine Arts Fair, March, 7, 8 and 9, 2014

 

 

Gainesville, Florida (January 31, 2014) - The Gainesville Fine Arts Association's 7th Annual Winter Fine Arts Fair will take place March, 7, 8 and 9, 2014. This unique festival begins with a night-time opening, with lighted artist booths, and live stage entertainment surrounded by an aerial backdrop of thousands of stringed lights illuminating the Tioga Town Center located on Newberry Road. The festival includes large public art sculptures, many talented artists and local favorites, live stage entertainment, local student art show in the "Kids Zone" and the Tioga Town Center merchants.
 
There will be 100 artists featuring paintings, photography, mixed media, sculpture, quilting, ceramics, jewelry, glass, and wood.
 
Monty, the Dog Gone Dragon , is a must see! This 10 1/2 foot, 4,000 pound public art sculpture, by local artist John Andrews, is made from recycled metals and will be featured in the center of the Tioga Town Center.
 
Attractions include "Kids Zone," featuring local student art show; ceramics for children to paint; Sun Country's Mobile Gymnasium; Project Gainesville's Storm Trooper character; S & H Iron Horse Express train rides; O2BKids activities; and Waste Alternative's "Trashformation," interactive art for children.
 
Entertainment in amphitheater includes "Gruv Therapy" Friday evening. Saturday and Sunday there will be musicians, school bands and dance groups. Plus, roving entertainment throughout festival. A complete list is online.
 
The Town of Tioga Merchants will be open during the festival.
