Gilpin County Fair Coming to Black Hawk, Colorado, August 16 & 17

Black Hawk, Colorado, July 24, 2014 (McKenzieNewsService.com) - The Gilpin County Fair is a small town fair in a mountain setting with big time events.  The 2014 Fair, to be held August 16 & 17 at 230 Norton Drive, Black Hawk, CO,  will boast a full Mardi Gras Rodeo on Saturday beginning at 1pm, with a free hotdog and símore bonfire at 6pm.  All the locals will be out on Sunday to enjoy the Gymkhana (horse speed events) and the High Country Auxiliary pancake breakfast. Other exciting opportunities for the kids include carnival games, free rides, petting zoo, pony rides, slacklines, mutton bustiní and face painting.  Adults should check out the stage with ongoing acts, food row, the beer tent, merchandise booths and more, including contests for the adventurous like the Log Splitting, Hay Bale Race, Talent Contest or Gilpin Gourmet Baking Contest.
