Gosport Fine Arts Festival Offers Something for Everyone in Historic Portsmouth, Virginia

 

The Gosport Arts Festival features fine arts and crafts including drawing, painting, pottery, glass, metal, jewelry, fiber, wood, photography and mixed media. 100% of the proceeds going directly to Edmarc Hospice for Children.

Portsmouth, Virginia, April 3, 2015 (McKenzieNewsService.com) - The 45th Annual Gosport Arts Festival will take place Mother’s Day Weekend, May 9 and 10, 2015, in historic Olde Towne Portsmouth, Virginia.
 
Featuring 100 artists from around the nation, the outdoor festival will be held along tree-lined High Street from the Ferry Landing at Water Street to the center of town. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Festival activities and parking are free all weekend. The event benefits Edmarc Hospice for Children.
 
The Gosport Arts Festival features fine arts and crafts including drawing, painting, pottery, glass, metal, jewelry, fiber, wood, photography and mixed media. Additional activities include live music by regional bands, artisan demonstrations, children’s area with animals, crafts and games, a variety of food vendors, and more. The Silent Auction will be located at the intersection of High and Middle Streets with 100% of the proceeds going directly to Edmarc.
 
Olde Towne’s seven blocks of museums and attractions, galleries, antique and specialty shops, and eclectic dining will appeal to visitors of all ages and will provide a full day of interest and fun during this special weekend.
 
Established in 1978, Edmarc Hospice for Children was the first hospice in the nation designed specifically for children. Edmarc is the only pediatric hospice organization in Hampton Roads and serves a wide geographic area that includes the Peninsula and Southside.
