Graham County Heritage Festival Offers Families, Food & Fun with Motorcycles, Moonshiners & Mountaineers, Robbinsville, NC

 

Local stars of the Moonshiners television show on the Discovery Channel will be there for pictures and autographs.  You may even get to see a replica of a still and learn the history of moonshine in the mountains.

Robbinsville, North Carolina, May 26, 2015 - Celebrate independence and patriotism on July 3rd and 4th at Courthouse Square in Robbinsville, NC. The Graham County Heritage Festival offers local bluegrass and country bands, a lumberjack competition, free childrenís games, a motorcycle show, heritage demonstrations, fireworks and more. The festival opens on Friday with a veteranís ceremony and parade.
 
Parking is free with a free shuttle to the festival grounds.  Admission is free to the event and to musical performances.
 
Kids love to meet the moonshiners, play games, and enter the contests.  There are free games each day and everyone who participates wins a prize. Kids can also compete in the junior lumberjack competition, watermelon eating contest, and greased pig chase.
 
The lumberjack competition pits competitors against one another to determine who has the greatest skills and who will win the prize money. Visitors can join in the friendly competition.
 
This is a great event for families because there is something for everyone. People come back to this festival year after year for the amazing music, down home atmosphere, delicious food, street dancing, and activities for all ages.
