Thompsons Station, Tennessee, January 6, 2015 (McKenzieNewsService.com) - On Sunday, February 8, Independence High School will host the second annual Puppy Love Dog Fest, their signature fundraising event. From 12 noon – 6:00pm, the community is invited to come out to the Independence High School campus at 1776 Declaration Way, Thompson’s Station, TN, and enjoy some great family friendly activities.  Mars Petcare US has once again signed on as the presenting sponsor for the event. Additional sponsors supporting the Puppy Love Dog Fest include the PB&J Day School in Franklin, Tidy Paws and Thurmon Flooring.

The Puppy Love Dog Fest event will feature multiple dog contests, pet adoptions, a pet themed vendor fair and competitions for student writers, artists and photographers from schools throughout the county. The submissions will be judged by grade level groupings. There will also be live music, food trucks, a children’s activity area and dog handling demonstrations by the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit.

“This year’s fest will be twice as long as last year’s event, and offer more entertainment, a wider selection of vendors, and a special activity area for younger children,” says Melody Morris, Vice President for Fundraising for the Independence High School PTSO. “We are excited that Carol Birdsong, Communications Director for Williamson County Schools, has agreed to be one of our featured emcees for the Puppy Love Dog Fest. In addition, more than two thousand dollars in cash and prizes will be given away throughout the day. We’re expecting a great turnout for this special event, and we are grateful to Mars Petcare US and our other sponsors for making this fundraiser possible.”

Admission to the event is $5.00 for adults and $2.00 for students. Children under 5 are free. Funds raised at the event will help build an outdoor classroom and provide other materials and equipment to support academics, athletics and the arts at Independence High School.
