Country music festival coming to downtown Las Cruces, New Mexico, May 17-19, 2013

The festival  will feature country music legends Little Texas, Darryl Worley, and a variety of country music’s hottest up and coming artists including Craig Campbell and Greg Betts.

Las Cruces, New Mexico - Las Cruces will be hosting the first annual Las Cruces Country Music Festival on Main Street Downtown May 17-19, 2013.  The festival, hosted by the Las Cruces Convention & Visitors Bureau and produced by Helping Hands Event Planning, will feature country music legends Little Texas, Darryl Worley, and a variety of country music’s hottest up and coming artists including Craig Campbell and Greg Betts.

“We are excited to be bringing this new event to Las Cruces,” said Las Cruces Convention & Visitors Bureau Executive Director Phil San Filippo. “It will be a great opportunity to showcase our dynamic city while at the same time offering country music fans a wonderful event. Country Music is a big part of Southwestern culture and we believe we will attract visitors from many different areas.  Most importantly, the Las Cruces Country Music Festival will be a big economic boost to the local economy.”
 
Friday night’s headliner Little Texas, climbed to the top of the country music charts in the 90’s with hits like “Some Guys Have All the Love”,” God Bless Texas”, “Life Goes On”, and their number one hit “My Love”. Overall the, band has six top 10 hits, scored platinum status with the album Kick a Little, and double-platinum status with Big Time.
 
Co-headlining Saturday night is singer and songwriter Darryl Worley.  Worley has produced nearly 20 hit singles, including three #1s, as well as chart-topping albums and sales in the millions. His hits include "I Miss My Friend," "Awful, Beautiful Life" and "Have You Forgotten." He has released six full albums during his career, and over nine of his singles have hit the Country Music Top 40.
 
Closing Saturday night’s concert is rising country music star Craig Campbell.  Hailing from rural Lyons, Georgia Campbell has been referred to as “one of the most promising neo-traditionalist country music artists today.” Known for his sharp-dressed look, Campbell debuted in 2011 with the album “Outta my Head” and has charted the top 20 of Hot Country Songs with his single “Family Man.”
 
Also performing during the festival will be up-and-comer Greg Bates. Bates, a singer, guitarist, and songwriter from Nashville, TN has already released a hit self-titled album at age 25.
 
There will also be an artist meet and greet Saturday morning at the Farmers Market from 10 am – 12:30 pm featuring many of the festivals artists.
 
The festival will conclude with Unplugged at the Farm and Ranch, featuring a cowboy brunch, an unplugged concert and a western fashion show on the courtyard of the NM Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum.
 
A weekend pass for the event which includes access to all concerts, the song-writers workshop and Unplugged at the Farm & Ranch is $50 per person before May 15th. Day passes are $20 per person each day. After May 15th, the cost of the weekend pass will be $60 per person and the day pass will be $25 per person.
