Lowell Showboat Sizzlin' Summer Concerts 2016 Line-up, Lowell, MI

 

 

The Lowell Showboat Sizzlin' Summer Concerts are presented by LowellArts and Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce. This outdoor concert series runs June 16 - August 25, 2016. Thursday evening concerts begin at 7pm in front of the Lowell Showboat, 113 Riverwalk Plaza, in downtown Lowell, MI. Food and spirits are available, admission to the concerts and parking is free.
 
Featuring exclusively music groups based in Michigan, the concerts aim to enrich the community in downtown Lowell while promoting the best of the region's talented musicians. The concerts consist of a diverse mix of music including Blues, American Roots, Indie-Folk Music, Country, Rock, Big Band, and Jazz.
 
Music Line-up Includes:
 
June 16 - Off The Ledge - Funk, Folk, Blues, Alternative Rock, and Jazz - Catchy tunes with a broad appeal, making for active crowd participation, and an inclusive, feel good show.
 
June 23 - Steppin' In It - American Roots - Brilliantly updates a re-surging American music genre with traditional roots and sweet harmony.
 
June 30 - Big Band Nouveau - Big Band and Jazz - Authentic Big Band sound with a continuation of hard bop and modern mainstream jazz.
 
July 7 - Joe Hertler and the Rainbow Seekers - Post-Motown Folk Rock - Spectacular pulsating music with a symbiotic relationship with its audience.
 
July 14 - Soul Syndicate - 60s and 70s Soul and R&B - Dedication to that soulful vibe and re-creation of a classic soul/R&B show of years gone by.
 
July 21 - Rachel B - Soul and Motown - Charismatic delivery and witty musings are coupled with melodic and uplifting undertones.
 
July 28 - The Accidentals - Alternative Acoustic Indie Folkish Rock - Quirky, vital and accomplished brand of high energy Indie-Folk Rock played on a plethora of instruments.
 
Aug 4 - Hannah Rose and the GravesTones - Blues, Funk, Rock n' Roll with Soul - Fusion of many genres from Soul music to Jazz to Blues to Funk to Rock n' Roll to Folk.
 
Aug 18 - Roosevelt Diggs Americana - Blending Folk, Country, Bluegrass, Blues, and Rockabilly into a melting pot of true Americana.
 
Aug 25 - Adams Family with Friends - Folk, Doo-wop, Classic Rock - Impeccably smooth vocal harmonies and acoustic rhythms of the classic favorites from the '50s and '60s.
 
Drawing crowds of upwards of 1,000 visitors each week, visitors can expect great music  as well as food and special entertainment for children during the concerts. The nearby Flat River Grill offers beer, wine, and margaritas at a cash bar on the Showboat, and the Lowell Area Historical Museum raises funds for their organization by providing hamburgers, hotdogs, and popcorn. Lead sponsors for the 2016 Lowell Showboat Sizzlin' Summer Concert series: Lowell Area Community Fund, Huntington, and the City of Lowell DDA.
 
There is no admission and free parking is available. The concert venue is wheelchair accessible, and handicap / senior parking is nearby. There is bleacher seating as well as space for your own comfy folding chair.
