Medomak Family Camp: An Unplugged Vacation on Maine's Mid-Coast

Family Camp gives the entire family the opportunity to experience all of the joys of a traditional summer camp experience in a comfortable setting that appeals to kids and parents alike. Medomak Camp, located in the mid-coast region of Maine, is one of the original Family Camps and is a leader in this industry.

Washington, Maine - At Medomak Camp for Families, the owners encourage campers to treat their facility as a “tech free zone.” There is wifi that is accessible right outside of the main lodge, but your kids will never know. The daily activities range from archery to arts and crafts, canoeing to campfire building, herbal spa to landsports, and more. With a camp photographer on hand, there's no need to tote your handy camera phone around and with bells to indicate home-cooked meals and activity times, there’s no need for a pesky alarm either. Long time camper Ann Conley recognizes the beauty of this tech free mentality. "Even the oldest kids don't miss their computer or TV, " she says. "It's so relaxing and a good chance for families to get closer while meeting people from all over the country."

With week-long sessions full of activities for campers of all ages, Medomak creates community based on true person-to-person connections. Meals are served family style around large round tables, activities are organized by age group, and each evening is spent sitting around the campfire and enjoying songs, jokes, and the occasional s’more .
