Unique Ecology Workshop Opportunity with Author Tom Wessels in Washington, Maine



Washington, Maine, June 3, 2013 - July 22-27, 2013, Medomak Retreat Center in Washington, Maine will host the eighth annual landscape ecology retreat with author and professor of ecology, Tom Wessels.  This exclusive and unique five day workshop will immerse participants in the process of reading the landscape as a means to forge a stronger connection to place. 
 
Throughout their stay, guest will explore a variety of forest, wetland, and mountain communities in mid-coast Maine including the granite domes of Acadia National Park.  Within each community Tom will lead discussions in geologic history, interpret cultural and disturbance histories from the evidence at hand, examine plant adaptations, and discuss evolutionary ecology.  These studies involve moderate level hikes.
