Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, August 29, 2016 - The Wisconsins Living History Artist Ride Photoshoot will again be happening at Old Falls Village (www.OldFallsVillage.com) Friday through Sunday, September 16th to 18th located at the Southwest corner of Pilgrim Road and County Line Road Q., Menomonee Falls, WI 53051.

Located in SE Wisconsin, this is only one of three Artist Rides in the United States, and is open to artists of all types of mediums.  This unique event offers a chance to produce vintage scenes not easily available to artists/photographers, meet other artists, and work with seasoned models.  Artists then use the photographs as a resource and reference to create their art:  fine art prints, paintings, drawings, sculptures, etc.

Sign up for this unique photoshoot to create historical scenes with period correct re-enactor models on the Old Falls Village grounds, in and outside of historical buildings, from dawn to dusk each day.  Campfire scenes setups available on Saturday night.

There is something for everyone’s artistic taste:  time periods range from Fur Trappers and Native American Lakota Sioux Indians to the pioneer days all the way forward to the 1900’s including WWI and WWII.  Scenes also include miners, mountain men and Civil War Soldiers.

Artists including painters, drawers, and photographers use the photographs taken at the Artist Ride as resources or ideas for their artwork.  Models bring their outfits, props and animals in preparation of the artists posing them in many vintage scenes.

Old Falls Village has historical buildings such as the Miller-Davidson house (the past summer home of the Davidson’s, of the Harley and Davidson Motorcycle company) has been used as the setting for many Victorian and Edwardian time period scenes.

One of the favorite locations to set many of the models from young to wise, Native Americans, hobos, high society, and working class, all posed waiting for the steam train on the train depot platform.

Native American tipis, decorated authentically inside and out, are also arranged near the woods depicting the short time period that the Lakota Sioux traveled and settled Wisconsin.

There are many great image ideas like the Cowboys lined up against the barn or riding seven across recreating the “Magnificent Seven” movie scene.  “Even after we have been creating ideas at Old Falls Village for the past five years, there is no limit to the ideas that we plan to create,” said Nancy Greifenhagen, organizer of the photoshoot. What is so amazing is that between the models and the artists, there are so many new ideas for scenes yet to be photographed."

Admission is $85 plus tips. Tips are required at the shoot of $5 per person per scene including animals and tipis.
