Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce (KS) hosting their yearly Minne-K Day Celebration, Saturday, May 3rd
 
Minneapolis, Kansas (April 28, 2014) - The rural town of Minneapolis KS, located 20 miles north of Salina, is having their yearly Minne-K Day Celebration on Saturday May 3rd.  Held downtown and coordinated by Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce members, Minne-K Day features over two dozen events, plus a growing number of arts & crafts and food vendors.
 
The fun starts in the morning with a 5k run and free biscuits and gravy breakfast, extending into the afternoon with events ranging from a donut eating contest to the Minneapolis Got Talent Show.  The Kansas Tractor Club will be parading their antique tractors down main street, and displaying them over the noon hour.
 
Other family friendly events include: fire truck rides, cookie decorating contest, face painting, bounce houses, merry go round rides, art show, youth fun run, corn pool, hay bale toss, texting contest, chain saw carving artist, cake walk, quarter mania, air hockey tournament, handyman Olympics, hula hoop contest, haystack treasure hunt, and kid's pedal cars.  The festivities will conclude in the evening with a street dance and live band.
