Michael Cleveland To Headline Winter Bluegrass Weekend, Plymouth, Minnesota

The Wild Goose Chase Cloggers perform in the Old-Time Music & Dance Hall at the Winter Bluegrass Weekend.

Plymouth, Minnesota (February 21, 2014) - Award-winning fiddler Michael Cleveland is bringing his dynamic, traditional bluegrass music to Minnesota. He will be headlining the Winter Bluegrass Weekend: A Festival Of Bluegrass & Old-Time Music & Dance, on February 28 through March 2, 2014 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Plymouth (3131 Campus Dr).

Considered one of the premier bluegrass fiddlers of his generation, Michael Cleveland is a nine-time winner of the International Bluegrass Music Association's Fiddle Performer of the Year award. Now constantly touring with his band Flamekeeper, Michael presents an exciting program of tight vocal trios and duos, blistering instrumentals, and fiddle-and-banjo duets that echo the first-generation stars of bluegrass. His shows are rounded out with his dry wit and the band's sense of fun.

In addition to the Saturday Night Headline Concerts with Cleveland, the Winter Bluegrass Weekend features a three-day Showcase of Bands on several stages with some fifty bands scheduled to perform. There are also dances, workshops, music vendors, and, the favorite part for many attendees, plenty of impromptu jam sessions throughout the hotel.  The entire schedule of events and ticket information can be found online at
www.MinnesotaBluegrass.org or by calling 800-635-3037.

The Winter Bluegrass Weekend is presented by the Minnesota Bluegrass & Old-Time Music Association (MBOTMA), a 501c3 non-profit Minnesota corporation, and made possible in part by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
