Cary, North Carolina, May 8, 2014 (McKenzieNewsService.com) - North Carolina Opera presents “Opera in the Pines” at Koka Booth Amphitheatre, 8003 Regency Parkway, Cary, NC on Sat. May 17 at 7 p.m. Maestro Timothy Myers conducts the North Carolina Opera Orchestra and vocal soloists Hailey Clark, Kate Farrar, Noah Stewart, and Ted Federle in a concert of Broadway and opera favorites.
 
"Noah," tenor Noah Stewart’s 2012 debut recording on Decca Records, topped the U.K. classical charts for seven weeks. Opera in the Pines features several selections from the recording, including “Without a Song,” an American pop standard made famous by Frank Sinatra. The concert also includes opera arias from Puccini, Verdi and Gounod and Broadway music from “West Side Story,” “Les Miz,” and more.
 
Tickets are $37 for covered, reserved table seating on the crescent and $25 for general admission on the uncovered lawn. General lawn admission is free for children under age 14.

North Carolina Opera was formed in 2010 from the merger of Capital Opera Raleigh and The Opera Company of North Carolina. It is dedicated to presenting operatic performances at the highest level throughout the Triangle. They also have a robust education program that brings opera to schools across Wake County and surrounding counties. The Opera brings international level artists to Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill, and also engages the best in local Triangle talent.
