Lauren Daigle to Open

Burlington, Vermont, October 20, 2015 - New Sound Concerts and The SoulFest has announced An Evening with Casting Crowns and Special Guest, Lauren Daigle. The event, which is slated for November 5, 2015, will take place at the Burlington Memorial Auditorium in Burlington, VT.

With 8.2 million albums sold to date—including one RIAA Double Platinum Album, three Platinum and six Gold records, Casting Crowns remains the top-selling act in Christian music since 2007. The award-winning group—consisting of Mark Hall (lead singer/songwriter), Melodee DeVevo (violin, cello, vocals), Brian Scoggin (drums), Megan Garrett (piano, keyboards, vocals), Juan DeVevo (guitar, vocals), Chris Huffman (bass guitar, vocals) and Josh Mix (lead guitar, vocals)—got its start as a youth group worship band. Today, the band remains active in student ministry in Atlanta, where Hall is serving in his 23rd year in youth ministry at Eagle's Landing First Baptist Church.

Casting Crowns has earned some of the industry's most prestigious awards, including six Grammy nominations, winning a Grammy for the band's 2005 effort, Life-Song. Over the past decade, Casting Crowns has also garnered 17 GMA Dove Awards, three American Music Awards and two Billboard Music Awards, among others. Most recently, the band was named Artist of the Year by fans at the 2014 K-LOVE Fan Awards. Their chart-topping songs—including "Who Am I," "Voice of Truth," "Praise You In This Storm," "Until The Whole World Hears," "Glorious Day (Living He Loved Me)," "Courageous" and "Jesus, Friend of Sinners"—have earned them nine No. 1 radio hits.

Throughout their career, Casting Crowns has seen more than 80,000 children sponsored through their advocacy efforts at concerts. Moreover, the band was a part of a team of first-responders helping to distribute supplies to survivors following the earthquake in Haiti in 2010.

Solo artist, Lauren Daigle, is sure to leave her mark on the evening as well, with her unique sound. The newcomer has already made an impressive mark on the Christian music scene, having appeared on Jason Gray's Christmas tour and opened for Aaron Shust on the Morning Rises trek. She sang with Hillsong at a mega church in Birmingham, and is a worship leader at Atlanta's North Point Community Church. She has a heart for victims of human trafficking, a cause she has given to for years.

Lauren Daigle knows that music is a powerful tool that can change lives. "I hope that as these songs hit peoples' ears, they don't hear my voice, they don't hear really good production, so they can say, 'Whoa Lord, I'm encountering YOU right now,'" says Daigle. "That's my heart's cry for How Can It Be. That people are moved and lives get changed because they get to encounter more about God and see His character."

Admission: VIP Floor seats: $80.75 (includes a preshow Q&A with Casting Crowns), Remaining Floor seats and Front of the Balcony: $42.25, Remaining Balcony seats: $36.00. Includes $1.00 Facility Fee and BO charge. 9% tax additional. Children under 2 are free provided they sit in a parent's lap.
