Historic Orleans, Indiana to Turn 200 in 2015

quaint little town of Historic Orleans, Indiana turns 200 years old in 2015
(1815-2015). This milestone will be celebrated with special events
throughout the year, so mark your calendars and plan to be a part of the
year-long birthday Bicentennial Celebration.
The birthday celebration kicks off March 11th, 2015 with birthday cake and the
unveiling of a special commemorative postmark by the United States Postal
The town’s annual
Dogwood Festival, held
April 29 - May 2, 2015, will also
carry out the 200th Birthday theme.
A Bicentennial Birthday celebration will be held July 3-5 at historic Congress
Square (town park square) celebrating the 200th birthday of Orleans. Planned
events include the premiere of a new historical documentary highlighting 200
years of history, barbeque, car show, parade, ice cream social, live
entertainment, fireworks and more.
Numerous other commemorative types of events are also planned throughout the
Collectible lapel pins, coins, posters and other items will be available for
purchase at the Orleans Town Hall and other various Orleans locations throughout

The Orleans Historic District was listed in the National Register of
Historic Places in 2009.
