Each week brings a new set of fun-filled, family-focused events and activities to enjoy:
 
November 22 -- 7 PM
Holiday Tree Lighting at the Collection at RiverPark
The second annual Tree Lighting Extravaganza will take place in Collection Park and will showcase holiday entertainment, an extravagant tree lighting, and a visit from Santa.
 
December 5 – Starts at 5:30 PM
64th Annual Oxnard Holiday Tree Lighting.
Ring in the holiday season as Downtown illuminates Ventura County’s tallest Christmas tree and Santa arrives on his sleigh.  Then enjoy live entertainment, the spectacular Winter Fantasy Music and Light Show, plus hot cocoa.  Admission free, handicap accessible and children welcome.
 
December 5 – January 1   Nightly 5-10 PM
Winter Fantasy Music and Light Show
Enjoy your favorite holiday musical jingles as they play in a synchronized show with over 30,000 colorful lights, animated characters, and decorated trees. Holiday animation runs every 15 minutes.  After the Light Show head to one of Oxnard’s downtown eateries for dinner.
 
December 5 – 7
3rd Annual Can-Trees at The Collection at RiverPark
Join FoodShare of Ventura County, The Collection and volunteers from across Ventura County as they build over 100 fun, funny and truly unique “Can-Trees” to celebrate the season.  The annual event collects food resources for the 74,500 residents served by FoodShare and raises awareness of the need for food security. 
 
December 6 – 10 AM – 2 PM
Oxnard Christmas Parade
Enjoy the joyous sights and sounds of marching bands, equestrian units, festive floats, classic cars, motorcycles, community clubs and schools, in addition to Santa & Mrs. Claus.  Grand Marshall for the 2014 parade is actor Miles Brown, star of ABC’s new hit comedy, Blackish.
 
Oxnard Tamale Festival – 9 AM – 6:30 PM
The annual Oxnard Tamale Festival, held in conjunction with the Oxnard Christmas Parade in downtown Oxnard, will feature authentic home-style tamales served by local restaurants and vendors.  The festival includes tamale making demonstrations, eating contest with celebrity judges, live entertainment, raffles, arts & crafts for kids, and a visit by Santa Claus.
 
December 6 – 28 -- 10-4 Saturdays, 1-4 Sundays (evening tours on December 17 & 18 at 6 PM)
Victorian House Christmas Tours at Heritage Square
See Christmas as it was celebrated in the Victorian Era with a tour of the houses in Heritage Square, all dressed up for Christmas. Docents, dressed in period clothing, guide visitors through the 1800's-style Victorian houses that are filled with history and storybook tales.  A blend of interior tours and vignettes.  Call for reservations or weekday appointments.
 
December 14 – 25 – Nightly 6-10 PM
Christmas Tree Lane – the lights of the Henry T. Oxnard Historic District
Enjoy 10 blocks of holiday fantasy display as this beautiful neighborhood of craftsman bungalows and revival cottages dresses up for the holidays.  The entire historic district is listed on the National Register – Christmas Tree Lane is located along "F" & "G" Streets between 5th & Palm.  Visitors can stroll, drive or ride the Holly Trolley.
 
December 13 Festival Activities 12 – 8 PM, Boat Parade 7 PM
49th Annual Channel Islands Harbor Parade of Lights
The Channel Islands Harbor lights up for the holiday Season with its annual parade of boats. The entire family will enjoy a full day of holiday activities, including a snow play area, Santa and Mrs. Claus, holiday artists’ market, exhibitors, live music, children’s activities, and much more.  At 7 PM Santa and his reindeer will ride through the sky, to mark the beginning of the parade.
 
December 14 -- 8:00 AM Race Start
Santa to the Sea Half Marathon and Festival
This annual half marathon, two man relay and 5k fun run is a fundraiser to help raise money and to collect toys for underprivileged children. For runners, this healthy and fun event runs through the famous strawberry fields of Oxnard, winds through the city and heads straight to the beach ending at the beautiful Marine Emporium Landing.  Not a runner?  Come for the day to cheer on the runners (most wearing holiday themed costumes) and enjoy the great expo and prizes.  It’s all for a good cause.
 
December 16 - 18 -- 6, 7 and 8 PM 
Holly Trolley Light Tour
Enjoy a special holiday treat with the Holly Trolley Light Tour.  Dine downtown and then board the open-top double decker bus for the "Downtown Holly Trolley Tour."  The 50 minute tour highlights include the Christmas Tree Lane in the Henry T. Oxnard Historic District, a stop at Heritage Square to see the Gingerbread houses, and the Winter Fantasy Music & Light Show in Plaza Park.  Price includes hot cocoa and sweets along the route. (Reservations Required)
