Founding Director Linda Post says, “Paradise City attracts artists whose work is both exceptional and unique. When attendees come into the show for the first time, I can almost see their jaws drop!  They expect a craft show, but this is so much more. It goes far beyond what you can imagine.”

“Up in the Air!”
Themed “show-within-a-show” exhibitions have been inspiring artists and intriguing patrons at Paradise City Arts Festivals for many years. The sky is truly the limit at this spring’s special exhibition. The exhibiting artists were asked to give Paradise City the sun, the moon and the stars! If it isn’t tethered to the ground, it’s fair game. “Up in the Air!” explores all that defies gravity, whether it flies, floats or is suspended in space.

Leonardo Da Vinci declared, “When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.”

Demonstrations and Live Jazz
Join master ceramist and raconteur Tim Scull, star of the WGBY/PBS program 'The Fire Within,' as he shares the secrets of his studio, discusses raku firing and demonstrates his expertise on the potter's wheel all weekend long.

Live music entertains attendees every day in the airy Sculpture Café. Paradise City presents music from the Great American Songbook by the JD Jazz Trio on Friday. On Saturday, the O-Tones’ dynamic renditions of Swing and Motown music will keep you tapping your feet for hours. Soulful lead singer Mary Witt is accompanied by bass, guitar, percussion and three-part harmonies. Sunday, the Green Street Trio features pianist, composer and dance accompanist Paul Arslanian, the founder of the Jazz Tap Ensemble. Arslanian is joined by noted bassist George Kaye and percussionist Jon Fisher.

Benefit for Music in the Schools
The 18th annual coat check station at the door benefits the Marlborough Public Schools Music Association through voluntary donations. The Association supports instrumental, vocal and dance groups in the local schools and after school programs. The members are the parents of the music students, the students themselves, music teachers and community supporters who have a strong belief in the importance of music education. Paradise City Arts Festivals have raised over $350,000 over the past 20 years to benefit community causes.

There are acres of free parking and a shuttle bus to and from the parking lots for those carrying heavy packages. Delicious food, beverages and desserts are available at the event.
