Omaha World Adventurers
Spring Travelogue Series with Former CBS TV News Reporter Sandy Mortimer:
Exploring Costa Rica
February 2, 2015
(McKenzieNewsService.com) - Omaha World Adventurers kicks off the
Winter/Spring series of three travelogues with former CBS TV news reporter and
on-air personality Sandy Mortimer. She will present her travel and adventure
film, “Exploring Costa Rica” on Thursday, February 12th at Village Point
Theaters, 304 North 174 Street, Omaha. There will be two showings, 2:00 p.m and
7:30 p.m. Tickets at the door are $14.00.
Mortimer’s career has ranged from news reporting to a flight attendant for
American Airlines. Today she is one of the best-known wild life film producers
in the US appearing at the Carnegie and the National Geographic Society.
Mortimer will take her armchair travelers to Costa Rica and some of the most
spectacular natural scenery on earth: emerald green rainforests, colorful
wildlife, mountain ranges, spectacular volcanoes and sandy tropical beaches. The
Central American country is a tourist paradise because of the people, their
hospitality and friendliness.
Mortimer will explore the Pacific and Caribbean sides of this third-smallest
country in Central America, plus almost everything in- between. One highlight is
the visit to Manuel Antonio National Park, the native Indian village of Baruca
and Cana Palmas, and a biological station in the remote Tortuguero region.
Included in the film is the wildlife of Costa Rica: iguanas, poisonous frogs,
scarlet macaws, hummingbirds, exotic butterflies and much more.
Sandy Mortimer will show Costa Rica, as you have never seen it.
