Great Lakes Sea Glass and Coastal Arts Festival Slated for Memorial Day Weekend 2014 in Erie, PA

Seventy vendors and more than 7,000 attendees are expected to take part in the Great Lakes Sea Glass Festival hosted by Relish Jewelers in Erie, PA

Erie, Pennsylvania (May 2, 2014) - Slated for Memorial Day weekend 2014, (May 24 and 25) the Great Lakes Sea Glass Festival will be held in the Great Hall of Erie’s 29,000 square foot Bayfront Convention Center.

“It’s going to be a supercharged experience and we encourage everyone to attend,” said Terri Reed, co-owner of Relish Jewelers. “What everyone loves about this event is that it’s so much more than a Sea Glass Festival; it’s an arts festival that has  a strong science, environmental and social-awareness influence. It’s becoming a real family affair.”

Some highlights will be antique bottle identification; lectures on a variety of interesting coastal subjects for all ages, live acoustic music by Erie’s own Mark Beery on Saturday, and the up-beat sound of the Salmon Frank Band on Sunday is expected to rock the house.  A few additions in terms of vendors this year will be authors, ceramicists, glass blowers and more painters.

A “Best Beach Find” contest will be held where attendees can submit their special beach finds to be judged for a cash prize.  A gift basket raffle will also be held. This year proceeds will once again be donated to two local nonprofits, The PA Sea Grant, and the local chapter of Homeless American Veterans.  All are encouraged to help support this worthwhile cause.

“There is a national and international interest mounting as well says Terri, in addition to artists coming from all across the country, we have volunteers coming from as far away as California and London Ontario, Canada.
