Food & Home Magazine Presents Legal Aid Foundation's 4th Annual Santa Barbara Chowder Fest

Santa Barbara Chowder Fest attracts dozens of restaurants competing for 'Chowder Champ' both by a panel of judges as well as by festival attendees.

 

 

Santa Barbara, California, June 3, 2013 - Now in its 4th year, Legal Aid's Chowder Festival presented by Food & Home Magazine has quickly become a mainstay on Santa Barbara's Festival scene. Held at the Montecito Country Club on October 27, 2013 from noon to 3:00 pm, Santa Barbara Chowder Fest attracts dozens of restaurants competing for 'Chowder Champ' both by a panel of judges (former Iron Chef Cat Cora and Scott Leibfried have both been judges in past years) as well as by festival attendees.  Restaurants compete for a beautiful bronze custom-designed revolving trophy as well as bragging rights all year!
 
Get ready for an afternoon of fine wine, great beer, and a host of other delectable treats apart from award-winning Clam or Creative chowder. Vendors to date include Chocolats du CaliBressan, FortunFoods*, Luna Olivo, Museum Café*, New West Catering*, Outback Steakhouse* (last year’s Chowder Champ winner), Pacific Coast Honey, Three Pickles*, UCSB Faculty Club*, Via Maestra 42, The Brewhouse, Geissinger Winery, Lucas & Lewellen Vineyards, Riverbench Vineyard and Winery, Seawind Wines, Stolpman Wines, and Whitcraft Winery. Live music, exciting auction items and the opportunity to win a raffle with 52 bottles of wine round out this event.
 
Proceeds benefit the Legal Aid Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit that provides free help to those who have nowhere else to turn for legal protection against family violence, guardianships for minor children, housing discrimination, consumer fraud, financial abuse against elders or other vulnerable residents of Santa Barbara County and other crimes that disproportionately plague the poor, disabled, immigrants and seniors.
