Smoky Mountain Quilters 2015 Quilt Show Memorial Day Week-End, Maryville, TN

Maryville, Tennessee, April 20, 2015 (McKenzieNewsService.com) - Smoky Mountain Quilters of Tennessee's 35th Annual Quilt Show will run May 22 - 24, at Maryville College, Cooper Athletic Center, Maryville, TN.  200 quilts, competing for $6,000 in prizes, will be on display and more than twenty vendors will be present through the week-end.
 
Internationally-known quilt historian Merikay Waldvogel will conduct bed turnings May 22, at 11AM and 1PM.
A special display of Quilts of Valor will be on exhibit and small quilts made by guild members will be for sale.
 
Guild members include many nationally-known quilters and quilt artists and the show draws quilts from other quilters throughout the U.S. and beyond.  The show is known for the exceptional quality of the quilts displayed. 
 
Doors open Friday and Saturday 9 to 5 and Sunday 11 to 4.  There is ample free parking and the show is handicapped accessible.  Tickets are $5 for a single admission and $8 for multi-day admission.
 
Maryville is 15 minutes from the Knoxville, TN, airport.  It is a 45-minute drive to The Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Pigeon Forge.  For those traveling to the show there is a wide variety of accommodations.  Whether you combine a trip to the quilt show with a visit to the park, a short drive to the fabulous Market Square in downtown Knoxville, or a day at Dollywood, the area affords an ideal spring week-end with abundant recreation.
