Stephanie Chase Performs Brahms’ Violin Concerto with Kermit Poling and the South Arkansas Symphony

 

Stephanie Chase will end the concert with her brilliant performance abilities. Stephanie is internationally recognized as “one of the violin greats of our era” (Newhouse Newspapers) through solo appearances with over 170 orchestras that include the New York and Hong Kong Philharmonics and the Chicago, San Francisco, Atlanta, Baltimore, and London Symphony Orchestras.

El Dorado, Arkansas, April 29, 2015 (McKenzieNewsService.com) - In classical music the “three Bs” forming a strong foundation are Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms. This concert will have two of the three great composers performed in the monumental Beethoven Symphony No. 5 and the beautiful Brahms Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 77. Both works are South Arkansas premieres.
 
Violinist Stephanie Chase will perform the Brahms Violin Concerto in concert with the South Arkansas Symphony led by Music Director Kermit Poling, May 9, 2015 at 7:30 pm in the El Dorado Municipal Auditorium (100 W. 8th St.).  This will be the concluding subscription concert for the symphony and the last performance in the El Dorado Municipal Auditorium before building renovations begin June 1st.
 
The concert will begin with the Beethoven Symphony No 5 in C minor.  Written between 1804-1808, the 5th symphony remains one of the most well-known compositions in all of classical music.  Especially well known are the first four notes of the symphony which are heard throughout the work as a recurring theme.

About the South Arkansas Symphony: 
The South Arkansas Symphony produces performances of the highest artistic quality. Founded in 1956 as one of the first orchestras in Arkansas, the South Arkansas Symphony is a 70 member professional orchestra serving the South Arkansas region.  Today, the orchestra is oldest, longest standing in the state. About Kermit Poling, conductor, violinist and composer:

Named by Forum Magazine as one of the top ten faces to watch, Kermit Poling is Associate Conductor of the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra and Music Director of both the South Arkansas Symphony and the Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet. He has performed extensively throughout the United States and abroad, including concerts in Mexico, England, Ireland, France, Austria, Italy and Switzerland.
