Texas Crab Festival 5K/1K Run/Walk Adds to the Fun with a “Best Crab Costume Contest”

Crystal Beach, Texas, March 31, 2015 - The Texas Crab Festival invites you to sign up for the annual 5K/1K Fun Run/Walk event. This is a timed event for all ages which runs along a scenic, certified course near the festival fairgrounds, sponsored by Samson Energy. This year the Run ups the Fun with a “Best Crab Costume Contest.” Participants are encouraged to wear their craziest Crab Costumes for a chance to win a trophy. All participants in the Fun Run/Walk receive a ticket to the Crab Fest, a free t-shirt and a goodie bag. It’s a great way to get out, be active with the family and proactively burn off some calories before indulging in all the fabulous food and fun of the Festival.

USA Today calls it one of the “10 Best Food Festivals to Dive Into.” It was also recently featured on the Food Network show Eating America with Anthony Anderson and on the Cooking Channel’s  Carnival Eats. With this year marking the 30th Year of Texas Crab Festival food, fun and a full-weekend of live musical entertainment, it’s an event not to be missed.

Make plans to attend the Crab Fest Mother’s Day weekend, May 8-10 at Gregory Park in Crystal Beach, TX. Tickets are $8 or $10. Sunday admission, May 10, is free. Children under 12 are free when accompanied by an adult admission.
