A Taste of Great Gulf Coast Music is What’s Cooking at the Texas Crab Festival

 

The Texas Crab Festival was voted one of the “Top 10 Food Festivals to Dive Into” by USA Today, and has been featured on the Food Network’s “Eating America” with Anthony Anderson, and the Cooking Channel’s “Carnival Eats.” All proceeds from the festival go to support charitable programs and scholarships that benefit the residents of Bolivar Peninsula.

Crystal Beach, Texas, March 30, 2015 - The Texas Crab Festival is cooking up more than a weekend of Gulf Coast style food and fun – this year’s entertainment lineup features a taste of great music to please any palate. Featuring rock, country, blues, conjunto, gospel and Zydeco favorites playing all weekend with bands from all around Texas and along the Gulf Coast, there’s sure to be something for everyone at the 30th Annual Crab Fest.
 
Friday’s music headliner is Grammy winner Wayne Toups, always a crowd pleaser with his high-energy brand of “BluesFolkZyDeCajun.” Saturday’s headliner is New Orleans’ own The Chee Weez, promising “a gumbo of all things party!” On Sunday sail away with the Texas Trop-Rock of Jerry Diaz and Hanna’s Reef. As always, there will be plenty of family fun and entertainment with games and events like the Crab Legs Contest, Washers Tournament, Two-Step Dance Contest and the Wiener Dog Races, as well as a Kid’s Stage, Crab Arcade and Carnival Midway. Browse Arts and Crafts with a coastal twist and feast on fresh local seafood like BBQ Crab, Crab Nachos and Crab Gumbo. Entry fees from this year’s Crab Gumbo Cook Off benefit the Lone Survivor Foundation’s Crystal Beach Retreat project. All proceeds from the festival go to support charitable programs and scholarships that benefit the residents of Bolivar Peninsula.
 
Make plans to attend the Crab Fest Mother’s Day weekend, May 8-10 at Gregory Park in Crystal Beach, TX. Tickets are $8 or $10.
Sunday admission, May 10, is free. Children under 12 are free when accompanied by an adult admission.
