7th Annual Topeka Railroad Festival, August 16th, Topeka, KS

Topeka, Kansas, July 31, 2014 ( - The 7th Annual Topeka Railroad Festival will be held Saturday, August 16, 9:30am – 4:30pm, at Great Overland Station, 701 N Kansas Ave., Topeka, KS. The Festival celebrates Topeka’s rich railroad heritage with telegraph demonstrations, handcar rides, tours of the new railroad park, trackless train rides, model train layouts, model demonstrations, kids’ activities, great food and entertainment and much more. Admission is $6 in advance, $10 at the gate, ages 2 & under are free. 


Railroad Heritage, Inc. (RHI) is a not-for-profit corporation whose mission is to preserve the rich railroad heritage and other significant history of Topeka and northeast Kansas.  RHI successfully preserved and restored the 1927 Union Pacific Railroad Station in Topeka, creating the Great Overland Station Museum and Education Center where there are exhibits, displays, educational programming and activities that represent the history and heritage in a way that engages the interest of the general public.
