New Jersey's Tuckerton Seaport Announces New and Exciting Events for 2014

 

Event admission includes access to the Seaportís 40 acres of family fun, featuring maritime activities, historic and recreated buildings, live animals, boardwalk, miniature golf course and exhibits.

 

Pirates and Privateers are scheduled to invade Tuckerton Seaport on Saturday, June 7th for the 4th Annual Privateers and Pirates Festival.

 

Tuckerton, New Jersey (March 17, 2014) - Tuckerton Seaport & Baymenís Museum announces exciting new plans for the 2014 season.  Despite damage from Super Storm Sandy, most of their buildings are now restored and open to the public as well as the mini golf course, playground, boardwalk, and nature trail.  As part of the NJ 350 celebration the lighting of Tuckerís Lighthouse kicked off the New Year.  A fresh new look demands fresh new special events and festivals.  Many favorites are returning as well but with a new twist to better the publicís enjoyment.
 
The Seaport begins the summer season with Jersey Family Fun Summer Kick-off Party on Friday, May 16th from noon-5pm.  It is a family friendly celebration that includes games, prizes, activities and entertainment. 
 
The Seaport really heats up in June with three huge special events. 
 
Pirates and Privateers are scheduled to invade Tuckerton Seaport on Saturday, June 7th for the 4th Annual Privateers and Pirates Festival.  Would be pirates of all ages are invited to help Captain Black and the Crew of the Valhalla, who have been plundering the eastern shore of the American Colonies for centuries, take control of the Seaport.  This is your familyís chance to set sail for a fun-filled day and even take part in a real treasure hunt.  Get your hands on a treasure map and see if you can find where the treasure be.  Wear your best pirate costume and you may even win a prize.  Pose for a photo while walking the plank.  Live the life of a privateer or pirate and learn the difference between the two.  Enjoy live entertainment throughout the day with Pirates For Sail and be immersed in an interactive pirate adventure for a swashbuckling good time.  If itís treasured memories ye be seeking then spend the day at the Seaport and live a pirateís life of plunder.

 

 

 

June 21st & 22nd the Tuckerton Seaport will host itís annual Baymenís Seafood & Music Festival.  Enjoy delicious Jersey fresh clams, crabs, scallops and shrimp from the finest local seafood purveyors.  A micro brew court, crafters, vendors, music, food, refreshments, family activities, demonstrations, boat rides, boat builders and decoy carvers are some of the planned activities.  Speak to commercial fisherman to learn about occupations on the bay or take a clam shucking class.  Bring the whole family and plan to spend the day.  Music from local favorites: The Mottís Creek Pickers (Saturday) & The Billy Walton Band (Sunday).  New this year, cheer for your favorite team in the First Annual ďShuck Offď contest.  This event has been selected as one of the Best Outdoor Festivals by NJ Monthly Magazine and is presented by the Jersey Shore Folklife Center.

 

 

June 21st & 22nd the Tuckerton Seaport will host itís annual Baymenís Seafood & Music Festival.

 

This year the Seaport has combined the Barbecue & Bluegrass Festival with Red Wine and Blues to host one giant new two day Roots Music Festival, and itís all happening the weekend of June 28th and 29th.  Come and uncork some fun and enjoy a perfect afternoon of wine tasting from some of New Jerseyís finest wineries, DiMatteo, Tomasello, and Valenzano.  Live roots music from top area bands!  Crafters, vendors, food, boat rides and lots of fun.  Vote for your favorite barbecue.  Receive a complimentary souvenir Seaport wine glass.

 

 

The Barbecue & Bluegrass Festival with Red Wine and Blues takes place June 28th and 29th.

 

July 4th Celebration includes childrenís activities, baby parade, food vendors, and entertainment follow the parade.  Fireworks over the lake at dusk.
