The Vacaville Jazz
Society (VJS) presents its 17th Annual “Save
Our Music” Vacaville Jazz Festival supporting music events and educational
programs featuring America’s eclectic jazz genres. The event takes place
September 16th to 18th, 2016 in Vacaville, CA 95688.
Vacaville’s original three-day music festival with 30 artists, including 300
musicians at venues city-wide showcasing blues, gospel, jazz, swing, bebop, big
band, Latin, funk, rock and pop music. See schedule (TBA) at
Free Weekly Tuesday Youth Jazz Camp Classes at Library
Kicked off Aug 9th thru Sept 13th • 6:30 to 8:30pm • Town Square Library
Youth Jazz Camp led by Director SMSgt Mike Williams from USAF Band, began
Tuesday August 9th at the Vacaville Town Square Library, concluding with a
recital performance on Saturday, September 17th at Nut Tree sponsored by the
Live Music Center and hosted by Solano County Library.
Crossroads Jazz Camps

Dubbed “Crossroads Jazz Camps”, families can enjoy the eclectic sounds of “Vaca
Jazz at Town Square” with Keith Stout’s AMO Combo with music educators Robert
Honeychurch and Mike Williams opening for guest artist Krohn, Malone & Defazio
with saxophonist Ken Stout.

High Jazz Ensemble, Nicholas Cagle leads Vanden Jazz Ensemble, Ralph Martin’s

director Stan Johnson & his Rocky Rhythm Machine, and Headliner J Harrison B

Multi-Cultural Music Heritage of “World Jubilee Day”
Saturday, Sept. 17th • 1-10pm • Nut Tree Village Plaza
America’s tribute to the eclectic music from all nations with the common
denominator of “rhythm” is the theme. Featured artists are Delbert Bump, Thomas
Molina Band, Frank Salamone, Pete Ayers and Keith Stout’s Alive Music Orchestra.
A special musical tribute featuring vocalist Tina Benedict will perform in
memory of renowned band leader trombonist, Mike Cherry. Enjoy evening of music
from out of this world with Clarence Williams 2nd Planet Band & Alive Band
with AMO horns led by Stan Suderow performing classic rock.
Gospel Jazz Sunday
Sunday, Sept. 18th • 10:30am • St. Mary’s Church, 350 Stinson Avenue
American Heritage Band will perform “Jazz Mass” with Tina Benedict & the St.
Sunday, Sept. 18th 1pm • Nut Tree Main Breezeway Stage
The Alive Band led by Stan Suderow and Alive Music Orchestra will continue
Gospel Jazz Sunday at Nut Tree preceding the Military Tribute and USAF Band.

Jazz music abounds throughout the day with a 5:30pm military presentation hosted
by Stan Suderow with special guest, Mayor Len Augustine, Ret. Col. USAF, Col
John Klein Jr. (60th AMW Base Commander) and Col Stephanie W. Williams (349th
AMW OG Commander). This presentation will pay tribute to active and
retired military concluding with a performance by the Travis USAF Band of the
Golden West, “The Commanders.
