Canandaigua, New York, July 10, 2014 (McKenzieNewsService.com) - The 41st Waterfront Art Festival will take place in Canandaigua, NY, July 26th & 27th. The Festival’s hours are 10 am to 5 pm both days. There is a small admission fee of $3 per person with kids 12 and under free.

The Festival started out as a way for a few local artists to show and sell their work on the City Pier and has grown to one of the area’s best known little fine art & crafts festival. It’s big enough at about 150 artisans for a great selection of high quality fine art and crafts but it’s small enough to walk comfortably. The Festival is just a block from the Wine & Culinary Center in Canandaigua. The art is the star at this festival but also offered is an excellent food court and musical entertainment.

This year’s festival poster is based upon a pastel painting of the city pier and lake with several sail boats by Gregory S. Mayne II, MayneStream Designs, of Farmington, New York. Gregory is a young artist who works in pastel, oil, pencil and photography. To see all of his work, he will be located at G -04, east of the gazebo and next to the playground. The framed original painting titled “Freedom on Canandaigua Lake” will be for sale at the Festival HQ tent as well as commemorative posters and smaller prints for this year and previous festivals.

The Festival is sponsored by the North Shore project to be built by Morgan-LeChase Development of Rochester. This project will bring upscale housing and retail space to Lakeshore Drive facing the lake beginning in 2015. Stop into the Festival HQ tent for more information about the project or go to www.northshoredevelopmentny.com.
