West Bay Opera tackles Tchaikovsky's Masterpiece Opera Eugene Onegin, Palo Alto, CA

Palo Alto, California, January 14, 2016 - The West Bay Opera will present Tchaikovsky's Masterpiece Opera Eugene Onegin February 19 through 28 at the Lucie Stern Theatre, 1305 Middlefield Rd., Palo Alto, CA. Admission is $45 - $83.

In 19th century Russia, a young aristocrat rejects the love of an innocent country girl. Returning years later to find her married to a high ranking member of the nobility, he realizes that she has been his only true love all along.  She loves him too, but knows that fate has separated them forever. The gripping Pushkin story of love unfulfilled, is brought to new heights by Tchaikovsky’s fiercely passionate score. Presented by West Bay Opera with a stellar cast headlined by Olga Chernisheva and Anders Froehlich, in a new, fully-staged production in Russian with projected English titles. Sumptuous costumes, elaborate sets, orchestra and chorus, and dance numbers performed by Mark Foehringer's SF Dance Project. Stage director Ragnar Conde. Conducted by José Luis Moscovich. Four performances only: Feb 19-28.
