Connecticut's Wood Memorial Library's 4th Annual Gingerbread House Festival

South Windsor, Connecticut, November 5, 2014 (McKenzieNewsService.com) - The Wood Memorial Library and Museum will once again deck its halls and throw open its doors for one of the largest Gingerbread House Festivals in New England. The free 4th Annual Gingerbread House Festival opens Thanksgiving weekend and runs from November 28th through December 13th, 2014.  Local artisans and bakers, experts and beginners alike show off their creative talents in a vast array of candy covered houses, trains and in some cases entire villages. Visitors will be greeted by creations from well known area restaurants, Max’s and Mill on the River, along with bakeries: St Moritz, Taste by Spellbound, and A Little Something Bakery.

With holiday music playing in the background and the spicy aroma of gingerbread in the air, the library will provide the perfect holiday venue for showcasing the sugary artistic creations. “Ye Olde Gingerbread Shoppe” will also be open offering the opportunity to take home a bit of the magic with many holiday themed gifts and treats.

“There’s something about the sweet smells and gingerbread, that‘s the perfect start to the holidays.” says festival founder, Bonnie Grover.

Wood Memorial Library & Museum is located at 783 Main Street, South Windsor, CT. Extended Holiday hours are Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10am to 8pm, Saturdays and Sundays from 10am-6pm.  The library is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  For more information call 860-289-1783 or visit www.woodmemoriallibrary.org
